ScentSationals Plug-in Warmers

My plug-in warmers are possibly the most used items in my house! My 13 year old daughter has made it her personal duty to ensure that her favorite waxes are always loaded into the warmer that sits in the bathroom beside her bedroom, and it seems that every evening she also takes a trip to our main bathroom and turns on the one there too.

I love that the warmers sit tucked into a tiny space and are ensuring the best possible bathroom ambiance, while at the same time doing a night time shift to provide a soft glow of light, guiding me through my hallways at night and ensuring that I don't trip over my Yorkie Sweetums, or her trouble making partner Izzy (aka our Schnauzer).

If you're currently loving your full sized ScentSationals warmer, but are not yet convinced that our smaller plug-in warmers are for you, then you simply must let me convince you! They carry the same ability to 'throw' our fragrances and release enough scent to have a big impact, while taking up a much smaller space in your home.

Check out our YouTube Video Blog for additional things that I love about our ScentSationals Plug-In Warmers!

Incense and Myrrh Review

Fit for a king, this Oriental medley combines warm myrrh with burning frankincense, soft amber, wood and musk.
As soon as someone says 'Incense' I can instantly imagine what they are talking about. I remember the array of fragrant smokes from as far away as my visits to Asia or from closer locations like the fair trade retailer that is a few miles from my house. The use of incense is somewhat familiar to most of us in aromatherapy, meditation and religious ceremonies.

However, If I was asked to explain to someone exactly what Myrhh is, I think I would be at loss! I definitely think of the Three Wise Men as well as other biblical references to myrhh, but as far as recalling a specific scent, nothing comes to mind. This lack of reference sent me on a short quest this morning to find out exactly what myrrh is!

And so, I bring to you my understanding and a simplified explanation of myrrh;  Myrrh is a combination of resin and aromatic natural oils which is harvested from a specific thorny tree species. Resin is sort of like sap, but where sap is sticky and is the sugars from the inner cells of a tree, resin is hard and glassy and from the outer cells of tree. (Resin acts as a plug to fill holes caused by damage or insects.) Resin can be heated like incense to release it's scent and/or is used to scent many modern day cosmetics and perfumes.

The distinct scent of Myrrh has been around for over 5000 years! Frankincense is another aromatic resin, and amber is fossilized tree resin!
Myrrh is commonly harvested from the species Commiphora Myrrhae
To make a long story short, ScentSationals Incense and Myrrh fragrance delivers traditional and ancient aromas. These scents are significant to us during the Christmas and Holiday season due to their long lasting tradition in our history.

Whew! It is like I am back in school with all this new knowledge! And honestly? I think that my research is somewhat wasted. The most important thing is how this fragrance makes us FEEL...

...and for me, releasing this traditional scent in my home  enhances the feeling of being warm and contented in our safe haven, regardless of how cold the night might be.

Decorating For Christmas

We are mid way through November, and according to both my internal clock and my actual calendar, it is pretty much time to start decorating for Christmas. Or, maybe I should be realistic, and admit that I have started THINKING about decorating for Christmas and that over the next couple of weeks the thought will nag at me steadily until I actually get busy and do it! lol

Many of you will already have checked out the great collection of seasonal warmers that ScentSationals is offering in their BH&G line at Walmart, but sometimes it is also fun to decorate a warmer in your own personal style! It would also be fun to add an extra decorative element to one of the Seasonal designs that are available!

Check out our YouTube Video for a step by step guide to decorating a ScentSationals Warmer, or draw your inspiration from the pictures below! This is a fun and festive project that anyone can do!

1. Use a cake stand to add some height to your Warmer.
2. Extra Christmas decorations are easy to add.
3. The more the merrier? Add enough decorative elements to create visual interest.
Your finished project will make a great looking and smelling focal point!
A Simple wreath can also enhance your warmer!
Looking for a great deal on the warmers featured in the video? Be sure to check out our November Featured Set! For a limited time, you can save 27% ! This is a fabulous deal, just in time for Christmas gifting and/or decorating for your home!

BH&G Seasonal Warmers

Here they are! All of our BRAND NEW Winter Holiday / Seasonal Warmers! I am drooling as I upload each of these pictures for you, and as you will soon see, picking just one of these is near to impossible!!

You will find these warmers under the Better Homes and Gardens (BH&G) label, exclusively at Walmart. Please remember that each Walmart may have a different selection than others, and may choose different times in the coming weeks to put the warmers on their shelves. Additionally, there will be limited stock of the warmers, so don't wait until the end of the season to get yours!

BH&G Cardinal Warmer
This Cardinal Warmer is a beautiful classic! The warming dish reminds me of a bird feeder or perch and the red trim on the slightly scalloped top edge is perfect!

BH&G Chickadee Warmer
Growing up, I had chickadees chirping outside of my bedroom window on a daily basis! This warmer is number one on my must have list!

BH&G Cream Fleur de lis Warmer
If you are looking for a warmer that has an elegant designer touch, this is the one! The beauty of this warmer can potentially fit into your decor throughout the year!

BH&G Red Fleur de lis Warmer
Feeling a bolder elegant designer's touch in you? Then this red option of our Fleur de lis Warmer is going to have great impact in your space!

BH&G Holiday Sentiments Warmer
I love being able to incorporate words into my home decor, that reflect the values and feelings that are most important to me. This is another warmer that is on my list, and will be used often throughout the holiday season and long after!

BH&G Amaryllis & Paperwhites Warmer
This warmer is another that I LOVE, and I think that it may be one that I gift! It is SO pretty!

BH&G Pinecone Warmer
A cool crisp day, walking in the snow, or one of those frosty mornings when everything is glittery white; THAT is what this warmer 'speaks' to me... how about you?

BH&G Santa Warmer
Is it wrong for me to want SO MANY of these seasonal warmers? lol I think that I can easily find a place for three of them in my home. So, that means if I switch warmers (so things stay exciting) just after Christmas, I will need 6!! lol

BH&G White Snowflake Warmer
Is this perfect for snowy winter days and nights or what?! I envision myself warming our BH&G Chocolate Mint Truffle or Cinnamon Spiced Eggnog fragrance, while sipping hot chocolate, after building a snowman (of course)... sigh...maybe winter isn't so bad after all!

BH&G Red Snowflake Warmer
For me this warmer belongs close to the Christmas tree with Fresh Balsam Wreath warming in it!

BH&G Snowman Warmer
And last, but obviously not least, who can resist this Snowman Warmer! This is my youngest daughters favorite! If you have kids, or grandkids filling your heart and home this season, return the love and set the mood with this fabulous new design!

The Great Pumpkin Review

Yes, in fact, Halloween is over and is slowly but surely becoming a distant memory as we wind our way into fall. Here at my house though, there are still pumpkins every which way we turn. Why? Because it is my husbands job to clean up the aftermath! I may be staring pumpkins in the face right up until Thanksgiving!

So, the question came to me... which are my favorite pumpkins? The real deal with their golden orange faces glowing in the night, or our yummy pumpkin scents whose glow is safely emitted from one of our wax warmers?!

The choices are below, with of course, a visual for each!! Stay with me till the end of the blog, for your chance to WIN one each of the pumpkins! (Actually just one each of the pumpkin scents. I am pretty sure that you don't want the others! )

1 - Vanilla Pumpkin CreamEnjoy a smooth, creamy swirl of pumpkin and vanilla on a perfect autumn night. Baked with nutmeg and sprinkled with cinnamon, this scent is a flawless addition to any fall evening.

2 - Happy Pumpkin - Happy yes, but not quite as sweet as our 1st choice. Has quite a few pumpkin seeds still stuck inside, as well as his 'guts' still clinging in a couple of spots on the kitchen wall.

3 - Ginger Pumpkin - Imagine a warm autumn evening in the kitchen as irresistible notes of sweet pumpkin baked with spicy ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon fill the air.

4 - Toothy Smile - Slightly evil, in looks and smell. Not a warm character that you want to hang around at your house for too long as he may eventually turn green with envy... or green for other reasons...

5 - Pumpkin CranberryA tart burst of cranberries straight from the vine combine perfectly with freshly harvested pumpkin to create a warm, glowing autumn atmosphere.

6 - A Nightmare to Clean up After - Very, very stylish, but possibly the messiest carving experience ever to cross my kitchen threshold.

7 - Pumpkin Spice - Buttery crust filled with creamy pumpkin and a pinch of spice.

8 - Lightning Struck - Lovingly carved with the cheerful intent to scare small children who approach our hose.

Hooray, you made it through all of the Pumpkin Choices!! Want to win one each of these four great pumpkin scents? Come visit me on Facebook and and look for my Question on which choices is your favorite! All of the people who respond to the question will be entered to win!!

Contest Ends November 9th at 12am MST so that we have time to ship the prize in time for Thanksgiving!

Here's a link to the Questions page at our Facebook account. Your entry goes in the top question!
