Summer Time Fun Fragrances! July 27th Review & Give Away!

August 3rd Update: CONGRATULATIONS to our winner in this week's draw:
Stephanie P.
I've sent you an email with instructions on how to claim your prizes!!

I can take a pass on the scary rides, crowded line ups, and impatient children, but I will STILL go to a theme park to enjoy the bright summer ambiance and, of course, the food! lol

Understandably, the food isn't something that I would want as an everyday staple, A once or twice a year treat is more than enough for my stomach to handle; but those enticing smells are welcome in my home and perfect to create a bright sunny atmosphere all year long!

Check out our Youtube Review this week of Churros, Cotton Candy, and Sno Cone, to see if your palette is as hungry for these summer scents as mine is!

Make your summer a little brighter by winning these three fun fragrances! Enter directly by leaving a comment on our Youtube Review, or take advantage of multiple daily entries by using our Rafflecopter below.

March 16th Youtube Review & Giveaway!

Drawing our scent choices out of a basket this week was FUN! I wish I had a lottery / Bingo spinner to put all the winning entries into and draw our winner... while random.org is very fair, quick and easy, it just doesn't have the same level of excitement that a spinner would!

February 24th YouTube Review & Give Away

Who doesn't LOVE a sale?! I was very excited last week to see a new 'Bargain Alley' in the 'Wax' section of our estore (www.scentsationals.com). Our outlet store in Provo Utah has always had a Bargain Alley where customers will find huge savings, and so to extend these great prices to our online community seems like a natural step!

In the Bargain Alley, you will find many of our popular fragrances which, of course, are the same high quality as all of our products. Pricing is 50% off of the regular pricing, and the reason you may find product here is generally because we have extra inventory of a fragrance.

For this week's YouTube Review and Give Away, I decided to chose four great fragrances from our new Bargain Alley; Autumn Leaves, Yin Yang, Pixie Powder, and Autumn Breeze. Head on over to our YouTube channel, check them out and don't forget to like our video and leave a comment on our YouTube Review so that you are entered to win these great fragrances!

Additional entries are accepted this week on our Facebook Page and via Twitter. All entries submitted directly OR via Rafflecopter below will qualify to win.

Jan 27th Fragrance Review & Giveaway!

Hooray that it is the end of another week, and we can relax in every sense of the word (or is it scents?!)
Love Story
Speaking of scents, I had a good laugh this week when Kasha Love, one of our Facebook friends asked me if I was paid in dollars and scents! lol The answer is definitely yes and the funny thing is that I am not sure which I prefer the dollars, or the scents. Afterall, the scents stay with me and make things lovely instead of being divvied out to pay bills like the dollars!! :)

Renegade
This week's Fragrance Review is now up on our YouTube Channel! (just click here to travel over there!)  I hope you will enjoy my review of Love Story, Renegade, Twilight and Care Package!

Twilight
Be sure to leave us your comment under the video over at the YouTube channel, so that you can enter for your chance to win the set of four fragrances! The contest closes Feb 3rd at midnight MST, and I'll do my best to announce the winners on Feb 4th. And YES!! You did read that right!! We will be having two winners this week, so be sure to leave a comment every day and up your chances!

Incense and Myrrh Review

Fit for a king, this Oriental medley combines warm myrrh with burning frankincense, soft amber, wood and musk.
As soon as someone says 'Incense' I can instantly imagine what they are talking about. I remember the array of fragrant smokes from as far away as my visits to Asia or from closer locations like the fair trade retailer that is a few miles from my house. The use of incense is somewhat familiar to most of us in aromatherapy, meditation and religious ceremonies.

However, If I was asked to explain to someone exactly what Myrhh is, I think I would be at loss! I definitely think of the Three Wise Men as well as other biblical references to myrhh, but as far as recalling a specific scent, nothing comes to mind. This lack of reference sent me on a short quest this morning to find out exactly what myrrh is!

And so, I bring to you my understanding and a simplified explanation of myrrh;  Myrrh is a combination of resin and aromatic natural oils which is harvested from a specific thorny tree species. Resin is sort of like sap, but where sap is sticky and is the sugars from the inner cells of a tree, resin is hard and glassy and from the outer cells of tree. (Resin acts as a plug to fill holes caused by damage or insects.) Resin can be heated like incense to release it's scent and/or is used to scent many modern day cosmetics and perfumes.

The distinct scent of Myrrh has been around for over 5000 years! Frankincense is another aromatic resin, and amber is fossilized tree resin!
Myrrh is commonly harvested from the species Commiphora Myrrhae
To make a long story short, ScentSationals Incense and Myrrh fragrance delivers traditional and ancient aromas. These scents are significant to us during the Christmas and Holiday season due to their long lasting tradition in our history.

Whew! It is like I am back in school with all this new knowledge! And honestly? I think that my research is somewhat wasted. The most important thing is how this fragrance makes us FEEL...

...and for me, releasing this traditional scent in my home  enhances the feeling of being warm and contented in our safe haven, regardless of how cold the night might be.

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada aka Pumpkin Pie Day!

Happy Thanksgiving from the pumpkin patch!
This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving!! I know that 95% of you are in the US, but I figure any reason to celebrate family is universal and so I will celebrate a bit of my family with you!

Hooray for family! gobble gobble!
Our Canadian Thanksgiving is pretty much identical to the US version, just a month or so sooner. We celebrate on the second Monday in October which is Columbus Day in the US. Our meaning is the same in that we are giving thanks for the end of the harvest season and celebrating the unity of our family and the community.

Will the real pumpkins please stop smiling!lol
Dinner is pretty standard at my house on Thanksgiving too, with Pumpkin Pie being the center of everyone's attention and the only reason that we don't over stuff ourselves with the turkey and trimmings that are our dinner.

My grandbaby is growing in leaps and bounds! Bigger than a little pumpkin...
...but not quite as big as a BIG pumpkin!
That being said, and PUMPKIN being our thanksgiving feast focus, we have been enjoying the new Vanilla Pumpkin Cream fragrance to it's full extent! It has succeeded in putting us all a festive mood!
I can hardly wait to be a Grandma!!

As part of the festivities, we headed out to our local Corn Maze last weekend and found ourselves a couple of pumpkins. My husband, nephew, daughters and son-in-law (or outlaw!) all enjoyed an afternoon of winding our way through the maze.

Vanilla Pumpkin Spice smells significantly better than this pumpkin did! lol
And so, now it is off to my fabulous smelling Vanilla Pumpkin kitchen, to add a layer of actual pumpkin pie smell to the mix. Sadly, the pumpkin pie smell will only linger for a few hours. Hooray for ScentSationals that my celebrated scent of the day will continue to bring smiles to everyone throughout the weekend!

Damask Warmer and Apple Brandy Fragrance - 27% OFF!

Black Damask Warmer
For me, my home is my haven. I have worked as an artist, product developer and creative director over the years, and so I tend to be pretty picky as to what decorative items I am willing to display in my space! If I LOVE something, then I will find a space for it, and if it isn't visually appealing, then sorry, but I just can't make it a part of my world!

When I first became aquatinted with ScentSationals, I was excited to go online and discover that their warmers are beautifully designed! This isn't a given with every product line out there. It takes huge talent, dedication, an eye on the trends and an ear to the consumer to truly meet market demands. So WHOO HOO! I can honestly say that we've hit the jackpot with ScentSationals!

This month's Featured Set = Black Damask Warmer and Apple Brandy!

The warmer that is currently our Featured Set is (truly!!!) one of my favorites. On my recent Outlet Store spree, I purchased two of these warmers (this is in addition to the sample that I was given) and I am not sure that I will ever be able to part with any of them! I need a back up right? OK... maybe I don't need a backup and I am just slightly over possessive. I will likely gift them both eventually, but not until after I love them a little while longer! :)

So, what's to love about this warmer?! I think that one of my favorite things about it is it's shape. It has a slightly oval shape to it, rather than the more circular shape that most of our warmers have. I also think that a black and white theme is timeless and can fit into almost anyone's style and/or home decor. Then of course, is the fact that it's on sale!lol just keeps getting better and better!

My house!
This picture is my house! It's slightly eclectic in style, very comfortable and easy to live in. The Black Damask warmer fits soooooo perfectly in my front room!

1960's lamp base + funky lamp shade + Black Damask Warmer = GORGEOUS!
While you may not have a room identical to mine, you will love how design oriented this warmer is. The damask design is very dynamic and the black and white color palette make it an easy fit.

It's time to warm some Apple Brandy :)
And then there is the fragrance.... while I've been writing up this blog, the Apple Brandy fragrance that comes as part of this Featured Set has been warming upstairs for it's first time... I'll just run up and see what I think.... NICE! I got as far as my stairwell and then could already smell it! The scent is excellent! When I smelt it in the package, It was very 'apple', which was nice, but now that it is warming there is so much more to it. The slight tang of wine/brandy adds a very appealing depth to this scent and the cinnamon and apple are resting in the background. I'll definitely be warming it again!!
